About Our School

Kaposia Education Center serves students from preschool through 5th grade. We work hard to give all of our students the very best in elementary education.

We are proud to be an authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP) IB World School. As an IB World School, our staff is involved in an intense reform effort that builds toward continual improvement of our school. As part of this continuous improvement, we will be evaluated by the International Baccalaureate Organization using worldwide educational standards. The content our students learn is aligned with standards of the State of Minnesota, yet with PYP it goes much farther and deeper than those standards.

Our teachers are using the best teaching strategies to ensure all of our students learn and make real world connections. Our students taught to be inquirers, to develop skills in learning how to learn, and to explore relevant topics of interest to them. Learning in this way is highly motivating and keeps our students engaged in school, and encourages them to do their very best.

School attendance is mandatory in the State of Minnesota in order to make certain that all children acquire the necessary skills for success as adults. Establishing good attendance patterns in the elementary years is one of the best ways to ensure a student will stay in school through graduation.

When a student is absent for any reason, the parent is expected to notify the school.  Please provide your child’s name, teacher’s name, grade level, and reason for the absence.
