Kaposia Third Graders Visit the State Capitol
Kaposia third graders visited the State Capitol to see in person what they have been learning about in class and better understand the workings of our government. For the PYP (Primary Years Programme) Unit: How we Organize Ourselves, the central idea is a democratic government is based on a balance of rights and responsibilities.
Throughout this unit, the students are learning about the three branches of government and how each branch plays an important role in making decisions for our democracy. During their trip to the Capitol, the student’s had a chance to see the governor’s conference room (executive branch), the house/senate chambers (legislative branch), and the supreme court room (judicial branch).
