Art Contest State Winners from Kaposia

Each year the National PTA Organization hosts an arts contest, called Reflections, for students in grades K-12. This year’s theme was “Show Your Voice.” Local PTAs collect art entries in the categories: Visual Arts, Dance and Choreography, Literature, Music, Film Production, and Photography. Schools pick one winner from each category to send to the state competition. States award 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place and the 1^st place winner in each category in the state goes on to the National Reflections Competition. This year we had two students place at state in the Dance Choreography division!

• Lilah, Intermediate age group- 2^nd place!
• Elizabeth, Primary age group- 1^st place and heading to the national competition!

The winners of the National Reflections Competition will be announced in late May.

It’s not too soon to start planning your submission for next year’s competition! Next year’s theme is “I am Hopeful Because…” Stay tuned for more details from the Kaposia PTA.
